The whitening of epoxy floor mostly occurs in the occasion of coating volatile coatings, which completely loses its gloss when it is serious, micro-holes appear on the coatings and mechanical properties decrease. Epoxy flooring whitening refers to the phenomenon that the coating film is milky white in the process of painting and on the surface of the coating just finished, which is similar to the phenomenon of clouds whitening and losing light. The reasons for the whitening of epoxy floor, preventive measures and solutions are as follows:
Reason 1: In the drying process, because of the low boiling point of the organic solvents used, volatilization is too fast, which reduces the surface temperature of the film, and makes part of the water vapor condense on the surface of the film to form a white mist, causing turbidity or loss of light.
Precautions: add moisture-proof agent, pay attention to ambient temperature and humidity at construction site.
Reason 2: The ambient temperature of the painting site should be 15-25 degrees, and the relative humidity should not be higher than 70% when the air humidity is too high (relative humidity is over 80%).
Preventive measures: water in coatings and diluents, or compressed air into water prevention and control through solvent and compressed air to bring human moisture
Reason 3: Quick-drying paint construction uses a large number of low boiling point diluents, the film will not only whiten, sometimes there will be many vacancies and fine cracks.
Preventive measures: In the construction of quick-drying paint, matching solvents should be selected, and the amount of diluent should not be too much, so as to avoid mixing asphalt and creosote oil into primer.
Reason 4: Water vapor agglutinated on wet film will precipitate part of resin or polymer aggregate in the film and cause whitening of the film.
